Kalambo Lodge - Lake Tanganyika

Includes -  3 meals Pick up drop off Mpulungu, Short trips within the vicinity, Fishing and snorkelling free,(bring your own snorkels and fishing rods) and accommodation.

Excludes - Drinks, hike to the Kalambo Falls,Water skiing and tubing  usd100 per 90 mins. Trek to Kalambo Falls K15 govt. fee, tip to guide minimum K100.

Cash bar. Children under 12 are half price, under 2 are free. We have seven chalets, Rooms accommodate 2 people, however our honeymoon suite Chalet 7 can accommodate three/ four with extra beds. Chalet 1 and 2 are also connected by a small balcony and best suited for one of the families with children. All rooms have showers and Chalet 7 has a bath and outside shower.

Activities include, swimming, snorkelling, 4 hour intensive guided hike to and from Kalambo Falls (govt fee at falls not included 15Kwacha for Zambians and 15 USd for non Zambians and guide tip), fishing, bird watching at Kalambo river and canoeing which is included in price.

Guests must bring personal fishing rods and snorkels - we no longer hire these due to COVID 19.

Additional activities include short trips within the vicinity to neighboring Luke's Beach, Isanga Bay Lodge, Chipwa Village and Kalambo River which are also included in the price. We can organize taxi transfers from Mbala at K150 one way or K250 both ways. Alternatively by road, cars can be parked at the Waterfront at K40 per day, a small private restaurant with parking.

Chalets - The lodge is comprised of seven stone chalets, each with a specific decor and ambience capturing the romance of the Lake. With enchating individual lakeside views, each chalet sleeps two to three people, with ensuite shower and ablutions. The honeymoon suite's luxurious interior, is a decadent spacious enclave. Boasting both a Victorian bath and outdoor shower enclosed by the surrounding forest, the suite is an idyllic haven for those looking to escape the bustle of day to day life.

Activities -  For the more adventurous spirit, Kalambo Falls Lodge offers a challenging two hour hike to the stunning waterfall that lends its name to the resort. The views from the heights of the fall, of the surrounding valley, lake and streams are unparralled and worth the exertion required to get there. The protected rain forest, enclosing the falls, is a home to various creatures you may have the opportunity of gleaning. From bushbabies to monkeys and antelope the hills team with local wildlife amidst the everchanging changing flora and fauna.

Natural Habitats - Lake tangayika's unique inland ecosystem is a strong attraction for cichlid enthusiasts keen on diving and snorkelling. The lodge attracts a number of academic organizations studying the rare species of the lake, and offers ponds for rental for ongoing research. Whether for academic research or simply a destination for the avid nature lover Lake Tanganyika is home to various bird species that inhabit the treeline along the shores. The lake and river provide extensive opportunities for birdwatching. Nsumbu National Park, a boat ride away, offers the chance to view large game. While the combination of the lake and adjoining Kalambo River provide ample opportunities for fishing.
