Boat Activities

We have a fleet of boats which can be hired with trained guides for anything from a few hours sightseeing, transfers or a full day tiger fishing.

Game drive

A full day adventure to the Lower Zambezi National Park. Depart from Nsofu at 5:30am and travel the 70km (+- 2hours) to the park gate, taking in the scenery of the Lower Zambezi as you go.

The game drive into the LZNP (Lower Zambezi National Park) is a 10-hour trip
Minimum of 4 people required to go on the drive

Nature Village Walk

Spend a few hours exploring the Nsofu bush with one of our guides who will teach you about the local flora and fauna. Keep an eye out for tracks in the sand, birdlife in the trees above you, and enjoy meeting the community in the nearby Mafungautsi Village as well as exploring a nearby banana plantation. You can also explore the property at your own leisure, following the already made footpaths.

Guided Village Walk ZMW300 $20 per person

Care must be taken in case of interaction with snakes, spiders or scorpions
Appropriate footwear is necessary

Birding

For those with an interest in birds, all our activities offer the opportunity to spot one of the 378 bird species in the Lower Zambezi Valley - Saddle billed Stork, White-fronted bee-eater, Western-banded Snake eagle, Eastern Nicator and the African Skimmer to name a few. For those avid birders, who are in search of something special, we offer guided birding walks or boat tours at select times of the year. Sought after species during our green season include the African Pitta, Livingstone's flycatcher and African Broadbill. We also welcome back the migratory birds such as the Broad-billed Roller, Collared Pratincole and Southern Carmine Bee-eater.

Swimming

An infinity swimming pool is available for guests to relax and cool off. Overlooking the confluence and perfect for our guests to cool down or to simply relax.

Playpark

A kids enclosed play area with a trampoline, jungle gym and slides.

Mini Golf

A short putt course withing the kids play park.

TRANFERS:

We offer road transfers with our 4x4 vehicles which can be booked for transfers to and from Lusaka (airport or a central location in the city). We can also arrange transfers for groups more than 4 with our busses. Boat transfers for 1-12 pax can be arranged for any guests travelling to and from other lodges.

Free boat launching and retrieving from our Nsofu slipway.

OVERNIGHT PARKING

Nsofu offers a parking area for guests to leave their vehicles when staying with lodges downstream. The fee is ZMW100 per vehicle per night, payable before departure. Boat trailers can also be parked for ZMW50 per night.

BOAT & TRAILER STORAGE

We offer storage space for boats and trailers for ease and your convenience for ZMW1000 per month. For shorter durations, a rate will be given upon request.

LAUNDRY

Nsofu offers a laundry service at a small fee to its guests who wish to make use of this service. Laundry is washed by machine and tumble dried then air dried, ironed and returned to the guest.

2 Twin bedrooms, a bathroom, kitchen with an upright fridge and utensils (ideal for self-catering), a lounge area fully air-conditioned, as well as a barbeque area for our more independent travelers and overlooks the Zambezi River.

3 Family villas, 2 with 2 bedrooms and one with three bedrooms, 2 bathrooms (1 is En-suite) a fully equipped kitchen (ideal for self-catering), a lounge with a TV, fully air-conditioned.

We have a fully stocked bar situated by the lodge restaurant area overlooking the confluence.
