*Meals begin with dinner on the day of arrival and end with packed lunch on the date of departure unless otherwise pre-arranged. Juice and filter coffee are provided at breakfast time, water, tea and instant coffee provided throughout the day. Wildtracks does not operate a bar or a shop, any toiletries or additional snacks or drinks (alcoholic or otherwise), must be brought in by the guests. We do not have card facilities on site, so please bring the remaining amount in cash in order to settle your activities.

Activities

Boats – Standard river cruises and fishing trips are done within a 7 km radius of the lodge. 8 pax per boat. $68 for two hours or part thereof $155 for four hours or part thereof with fishing guide *fuel included on standard trips. If you would like to go further, please enquire for a price.

Fishing Tackle/rod Hire – $7 per rigged rod per day; $5 additional tackle Worms and bait – $3 per container Ice – $3 Launch fee for private boats (in and out) – $25 per boat

Bushwalk – $12 pp (two hours or part thereof) Baobab Tree climbing – $12 pp

SELF CATERING 

Wildtracks Lodge offers serviced self-catering or pre-booked catered accommodation. During this time of COVID-19 prevention, we are offering our facilities to one group at a time with a minimum group size required to book. Smaller groups may provisionally book, but may only be confirmed 48 hours prior to arrival. All linen and towels are provided. Kitchen is fully equipped with cooking and dining equipment (no microwave) as well as fridges and freezers. Kitchen and dining area will be staffed from 08:00 -17:00 for your convenience. Lodge guests have access to all facilities in the main lodge area including boma, swimming pool and jetty. Drinking water is also provided. Ice is available for sale. Chalets can sleep up to 16 people in twin or double en suite bedrooms. Each room has its own entrance, and twin and double rooms also have an internal interleading door making them ideal for families with children.

$320 per night for up to 8 people. Additional guests charged at $40 pppn. Max 16 guests.

Bushbuck Tent has been renovated to include a self-contained, equipped outdoor kitchen. (only available April – November) This lovely en-suite tent features a double bed and can be fitted with an additional single bed should you need one. No cheffing service provided at this facility during your stay, dish washing services will be provided. Linen, towels, braai and fire place with fire wood and drinking water are provided. Ice is available for sale. Bushbuck guests also have access to the lodge swimming pool and jetty.

Wildtracks is a member of the Lower Zambezi Tourism Authority (LZTA) and supports the Lower Zambezi Catch and Release Initiative (LZCRI) and Conservation Lower Zambezi (CLZ).

DIRECTIONS: Travelling from Lusaka: Travel south 123 km on the T2 to Chirundu. Travelling from Livingstone: Travel northwest on the T1 for 350 km. At the junction with the T2 turn right and head south for 80 km to Chirundu Driving directions to Wildtracks from Chirundu From Chirundu: take the gravel road towards Chiawa and the Lower Zambezi National Park. The condition of the road varies, so a high clearance vehicle is recommended in the dry season. In the wet season, the road may only be passable by 4 x 4 after heavy rain. After 13 km, you will reach the new bridge to cross the Kafue River. A further 1.5 km after the bridge, you will reach a junction. Keep right and continue a further 16.8 km towards Chiawa. Turn right at the Wildtracks/Baya Baya sign. A further 0.5 km after the junction turn left and continue 3 km to reach Wildtracks. Wildtracks is located at: 15.9422° S, 29.0049°E (WGS 84) Notes: • The trip from Lusaka to Wildtracks takes 3 - 4 hours. However if there is heavy traffic on the escarpment road delays can be expected as heavy trucks often break down here and the road is not in good condition. • A high clearance vehicle is recommended for the gravel road between Chirundu and Wildtracks. • During the rainy season (Nov – April) this road is 4×4 only. The road may be impassable for a few hours after heavy downpours. • Parking and boat launching facilities are available, at a fee, from Gwabi Lodge about 11km out, before the Kafue bridge. • Boat transfers to Wildtracks can be arranged in advance for those not wishing to drive. • Outside of Lusaka, fuel is available in Kafue town and Chirundu.
