Each chalet has 24/7 power, electric fan, indoor loo/washbasin, outdoor bath & shower (solar heated) Our chef will prepare delicious meals with your food for you; the kitchen has an oven, freezer, refrigerator and limited ice. Our waiters & room attendants will assist you to make your stay as safe and fun as possible.
Two professional guides from our “Best in Africa” guiding team are ready to take you on day/night game drives, boat safaris & fishing (100% catch & release all species). Our team will take all statutory hygiene and distancing precautions regarding COVID-19.
WHAT TO BRING: Access to Old Mondoro requires a high clearance, reliable 4x4, ideally equipped with a GPS as there are no sign-posts! Bring enough fuel to return home with, extra spare wheel, all your own food, condiments, paper napkins/towels, drinks, cameras, binocs, torches, fishing tackle (no bait fishing, artificial lures, one hook per lure, barbless hooks only), trash/bin bags, and personal items including face masks and hand sanitiser. There is emergency wifi only so your connection and entertainment will be with Old Mondoro’s world-famous wilderness and wildlife.
Old Mondoro will supply, filtered drinking water at meals and on activities, hot water for breakfast and hot box if requested on activity but guests to provide tea and coffee, limited ice.
LOCATION Old Mondoro is deep inside the Lower Zambezi NP, about 45km east of Chongwe Gate and about 10km east of Jeki Airstrip, on the banks of the Zambezi River. Coordinates: 15deg 37’49”S 29deg 41’29”E Plan on a 6 hour drive from Lusaka via Leopards Hill route, plan on arriving at Old Mondoro no later than 2pm as the tracks in the Park are not sign posted and are not very distinct - getting lost is bad, in the dark worse!
