General Information

Winterthorn is in the Chiawa area, about 18Km from Chirundu and 7Km from the Chiawa Bridge. Self-catering accommodation only, so all guests would need to bring their own food and drinks. We are connected to the Zesco grid for electricity, although there is no backup generator we have some solar lights and a one plate gas stove onsite.

The water source is borehole, we always recommend you take your own drinking water.

Rooms - 3 large Chalets; each chalet can sleep 4 people comfortably. The rooms are air-conditioned and both have en-suite facilities (toilet, sink and shower). We provide bed linen, towels and mosquito nets for each bed. (one double bed and 2 single beds in each chalet)

There is also a travel cot for babies which can go in either room upon request.

Kitchen Diner The Kitchen/Diner has a cooker, fridge, deep freezer, kettle and toaster. A full Inventory list is provided upon booking. There is also an eight-seater dining table with 8 chairs and a seating area with sofa-bench and 2 chairs. There is a pantry for storing food and a single toilet with sink at the rear.

Swimming Pool There is a small plunge pool located on site, we also have a hammock and two sun beds as well.

Game Management Area Please note Winterthorn is in a Game Management area, therefore there are wild animals around.

Smoking - No Smoking allowed inside any of the buildings, this includes the Kitchen/Diner. Activities We are currently not offering any activities at Winterthorn; however, we have an arrangement with a nearby lodge that can offer boat cruises, fishing and a range of other activities.
